The Evolution of Aquasealz™ Technology 

The genesis of Aquasealz™  can be traced back 25 years to Sealskinz's founding principle. A commitment to addressing the needs of East Anglian adventurers who brave the harshest conditions.  

By experiencing the shortcomings of traditional waterproof materials, many of which end to compromise breathability when worn directly against the skin, our brand's founders were driven to innovate. They pursued the development of a solution that would not force a choice between moisture protection and breathability but would instead deliver both.  

Remember, no matter how warm or waterproof your socks and gloves are, when they lack breathability moisture cannot escape and when moisture cannot escape your extremities will get cold and damp.

How Aquasealz™ Technology Works  

At its core, Aquasealz™ technology is a sophisticated membrane system. This technology employs a triple-layer design consisting of a high-performance hydrophilic membrane sandwiched between a durable outer layer and a soft, moisture-wicking inner layer. 

Hydrophilic membranes are made from materials that attract water molecules. Unlike their hydrophobic counterparts, which repel water. 

The advantage? Our membranes allow moisture vapor from the body to escape to the outside, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable. This is achieved through a process known as moisture vapor transmission and relies on the principle of diffusion, where moisture moves from an area of higher temperature (inside the glove or sock) to an area of low temperature (outside). 

This ingenious design ensures that your hands and feet remain dry and comfortable, no matter the conditions outside.
